Contingent Board Nominations

Contingent is looking for some new board members! We’re looking for folks who are committed to the magazine’s mission and want to help us shape how we carry it out in a changing media and academic landscape. While we prioritize publishing historians working off the tenure-track, you don’t have to be a historian or contingent to be on the board!

Board members serve three year terms, so those elected this winter will serve until December 2028. The Contingent board meets four times a year (virtually) and board members are expected to attend those meetings. Board members, including the editorial staff, may write for the magazine but cannot be paid for that work while on the board.
