Holly Genovese

Holly Genovese is a PhD student in American Studies at UT Austin with a portfolio in African American studies and diaspora studies. She has an MA in history from the University of South Carolina, where she studied Black Power and prisons in Louisiana. Her current research interests are anti-prison activism, prison memoirs, black poetics, and southern activism. She has written for such publications as Teen Vogue, the Washington Post, and Electric Literature.
